New ( 2000) : History in the Depths (text description) by Savas Karakas
History
in the Depths is a documentary film including five, thirty minutes
long episodes. This decumentary has a different point of view to tell the
the Gallipoli tragedy. A part of the World War I, Gallipoli was the main
concern to reach Russia. But it was a disaster for allied. Almost 250 thousand
soilders lost their lives from both sides.
This is the first documentary from Turkish film makers. Therefore it has Turkish point of view to introduce Gallipoli wars with a unique approach : ship wrecks of Gallipoli. The amazing siluets of the ships at the bottom of the sea reminds us the history again.
The shipwrecks
of HMS Irresistible , Tawler Lundy ,
HMS Triumph,
HMS Majestic , The views from Anzac Cove and Sulva Bay will show the
magnificence of the battle. You will also walk around in the International
Historical Peace Park (Gallipoli Park) and listen to the story of Gallipoli
Wars and the hereos. This documentary hasn't arrived at US channels. I
hope that we would have a chance to watch very soon.

The comments about the "Gallipoli 1915 : History in the Depths" ;
"I am sure it will help to inform Australians of the Gallipoli Champaign and provide a perspective that they might not otherwise see." His Excellency I. K Forsyth, Ambassador of Australia
"A big stride forward in Australian-Turkish understanding of a significant event in both Turkish and Australian national history. It is particularly valuable for its original and striking underwater footage of wrecked battleships - this has never been viewed on film before." Ashley Ekins, Senior Historian, Australian War Memorial.
"To me the interest is the wrecks. We have many shows on the Anzac story. None on the Turkish view however. None on the wrecks. There is the strength." Ross J. Bastiaan, Periodontist.
"The film present an interesting perspective of events of 1915 with much archive material, in addition to which there is striking underwater footage including the wrecks of HMS Irresistible, Majestic and Triumph and Turkish battleship Mesudiye." David Saunders, Editor The Gallipolian, Gallipoli Association.
