This week's meeting
This week Youngsun Kong, a PhD candidate from our own IIT ChBE department, will talk about "Emulsion Texture and Stability: Role of Surfactant Micellar Interactions in the Presence of Proteins."
We will be meeting on Thursday from 12:50 until 1:40 PM in Perlstein 108. As usual there will be free pizza.

Evening with Industry
IIT AIChE's annual Evening with Industry will be on Friday, November 7th, sometime in the evening. It will be in the MTCC. Evening with Industry (or EWI for short) is IIT AIChE's annual career fair/dinner, where we bring together professional chemical engineers representing Chicagoland companies as well as IIT students, and give them a chance to meet and get together and exchange business cards and such. We will have more details on this fun event quite soon.
2008 AIChE National Student Conference
The 2008 AIChE National Student Conference will be held in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on November 14-17. Any AICHE conference is a special event, but this conference is also the Centennial celebration. A group of IIT students will be going; for more information contact the IIT AIChE executive board at aiche@iit.edu.

2009 Regional Conference Planning Committee!
IIT AIChE is hosting the 2009 AIChE Spring Regional Conference, and we need your help!
We are looking for individuals willing to put in any amount of time or effort (no amount is too small or too big) to help make this conference successful. Anyone interested can join the Regional Conference Planning committee, which meets on Mondays at 12:50 in the MTCC blue room. 2009 AIChE North-Central Regional Conference
AIChE's Regional Student Conference is an annual event that attracts the best and brightest engineering students from colleges and universities across the North Central region. The goal of this event is to provide an opportunity for serious-minded students to come together to share their technical knowledge, plan for the future, and meet with industry professionals. Over 200 students from various North Central universities are expected to attend.
IIT AIChE will be hosting the 2009 North-Central Regional Conference on February 27 to March 1, 2009. We are expecting around 200 students to attend, and at this point we are looking for help from companies that would be willing to give us financial sponsorship, or help in other ways such as giving plant tours Friday afternoon, attending the career fair, judging or sponsoring one of the competitions, or sending a speaker to our Industry Workshops on Saturday. If you, your company, or a company you know would like to help in any way, please contact either Jennifer Guilfoyle at jguilfoy@iit.edu, our student leader organizing the conference, or our faculty advisor, Don Chmielewski, at chmielewski@iit.edu.
We are the Illinois Institute of Technology student chapter of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers. We strive to promote Chemical Engineering and to provide opportunities to Chemical Engineering students.
To this end, we hold weekly meetings every Thursday in Perlstein Hall room 108 from 12:50 until 1:40. Our meetings consist of FREE PIZZA and a weekly speaker during our Spring and Fall Speaker Series, who comes in to talk to us about subjects of interest to Chemical Engineering students.
