Provost Cramb Appointed Acting Dean of Armour College
Effective with the start of the 2008 academic year, Dr. Alan W. Cramb, IIT's new provost and senior vice president for Academic Affairs, assumed the role of acting dean of Armour College. Dr. Cramb came to IIT from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, where he served as dean of engineering and the   John A. Clark and Edward T. Crossan Professor of Engineering.

Hamid Arastoopour Named WISER Director
Dr. Hamid Arastoopour, Henry R. Linden Professor, was appointed as the first director of the IIT Wanger Institute for Sustainability and Energy Research (WISER).WISER is an interdisciplinary research and education center incorporating contributions from architecture, the sciences, psychology, law, business, and design into the research and education structure, and leading the way in confronting the energy challenges facing the world today and in the future.

IIT Announces Wanger Institute for Sustainable Energy Research
On March 3, IIT announced the establishment of the Wanger Institute for Sustainable Energy Research (WISER) that will provide the foundation for a campus-wide energy sustainability effort to create learning opportunities for students and faculty from across academic disciplines.
