I recently graduated from Illinois Institute of Technology with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering. For a look at campus click here . After spending 3 years as a lab manager for Handschy Industries, a division of Field Container. I now work for Millipore doing R&D work on clarification for use in Biopharmaceutical production.

I graduated from Alvirne High School in my home town of Hudson . An aerial picture of Alvirne. Before high school I was home schooled by my mother and father. It was a wonderful experience and I would recommend it if done right. I added that last disclaimer recently after having heard too many stories of people who made homeschooling an exercise in issolation about home schooling. Here is a more general home schooling page .

The previous comic illustrates one of my favorite reasons for being home schooled. Home schooling allows more time to learn naturally, through self motivated forms of research. For example, Biology (catching frogs in the woods), Chemistry/Physics (Reacting sodium bicarbonate with acetic acid to increase entropy causing unequal pressure gradients resulting in projectile motion (shooting corks from bottles)), English (going to the library to read for the fun of it), PE (you name it), Math (building a basketball court). I think you get the point, and we didn't have a TV, never mind cable, for quite awhile which freed up a bit more time.
