Requesting / Creating a New Account

What type of account do you want?

GiftNew Accounts for gifts must be requested by the Office of Institutional Advancement. This is to insure that all gifts to the university get recorded properly. Please contact the office of Institutional Advancement (Kay Callan (callan@iit.edu) ext. 7-5771)

Grant / Sponsored Research You should contact Project Accounting project coordinator Derek Usman (usman@iit.edu)(ext. 7-3337). The project coordinator will help you.

New Student Organization Account You should contact the Director of Student Activities Mary Taylor-Blasi (taylorblasi@iit.edu)(ext. 7-5171) or the Student Affairs Coordinator Vickie Tolbert (tolbert@iit.edu)(ext. 7-3081) and they will help you.

New Departmental Account You should fill out the new account request form (http://www.iit.edu/~controller/new-acct-req-form.xlt) and send the form to the Controller's Office, to John Mahoney (mahoney@iit.edu)(ext. 7-3334). You must have the form approved. Send an approved paper copy, or get approval sent by e-mail from the Dean, Director or Department Chair's e-mail address.

Capital - a new construction in progress account The Associate Vice President of Facilities should fill out the new account request form (http://www.iit.edu/~controller/new-acct-req-form.xlt) and send the form to the Controller's Office, to John Mahoney (mahoney@iit.edu)(ext. 7-3334). Send an approved paper copy, or get approval sent by e-mail from the Associate VP for Facilities e-mail address.

Endowment - a new endowment Account Endowed accounts are requested by the Office of Institutional Advancement. The gifts go to OIA, and OIA will request a new account for you. This is to help insure that all gifts to the university are recorded properly.

Other Accounts Questions about new accounts should be directed to John Mahoney (mahoney@iit.edu)(ext. 7-3334).

When contacted the Controllers Office will respond to your request within two days.
