Procedures for Institutional Advancment to Request a New Account

Gift Accounts

  1. Fill out and approve a new request form.
  2. Send a copy of donor restrictions on the gift, the donor letter or a memo detailing the restrictions.
  3. Send a memo that states that the request meets the Institutional policy for new endowments.

Endowed Accounts

  1. Fill out and approve a new request form.
  2. Send a memo that states that the request meets the Institutional policy for new endowments.
    - or -
    Send a copy of the endowment contract and donor letter detailing the restrictions on the gift.
    - or -
    Send a memo from the institutional unit requesting an endowment and the restrictions that the unit wants to place on the spending.

Then send the request to John Mahoney (mahoney@iit.edu) at the Controller's Office, Room 201 Main Building.
