GENERAL EDUCATION PROGRAM - Please consult the General Education section of the current IIT Bulletin for complete requirements.

1. Basic Writing Proficiency - Students must show basic writing proficiency by receiving a satisfactory score on the Writing Proficiency Examination or by passing an English Composition course.
   
   
2. 5. Science Electives - A minimum of eleven (11) hours is required. Two courses must be in the same field and at least one course must be in a different field. 10. Science, Technology and Society Elective - Choose one course from the following: BUS 232; PHY SCI 103, 107; PSYC 206, 211; or SOC 201, 202, 210, 235.

12. Free Electives - Choose three courses from any of the courses listed in the above sections or any course with an "IAI" designation, except ART 196, 197; CHILD DEP 259; MATH 118, 122, 135, 204; MUS 102, 103, 105, 106, 111, 112, 133, 134, 201; and THE 133, 235.
    
    
13. Minor Electives (PTC only) - The Professional and Technical Communication curriculum requires a 15 semester hour minor. Depending on the minor, a student may complete a maximum of three courses at the City Colleges. Please contact IIT's Office of Educational Services for additional information.
