THIS GUIDELINE IS FOR THE 2004 - 2007 ACADEMIC BULLETIN AND IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE WITHOUT NOTICE

  1. GENERAL EDUCATION PROGRAM - Please consult the General Education section of the current IIT Bulletin for complete requirements.

    1. Basic Writing Proficiency - Students must show basic writing proficiency by receiving a satisfactory score on the Writing Proficiency Examination or by passing an English Composition course.

    2. Humanities - Choose one course from the following: ENG 223, 225, 226, 227, 228, 229, 241, 243, 244, 246; HST 121, 122, 123, 124, 221, 222, 223; HUM 121, 122, 221; or PHI 121, 123, 125, 126, 221.

    3. Social Sciences - Choose one course from the following: ANT 121, 221, 224, 228; ECO 110, 221, 222, 223, 224, 225; GEG 122, 123, 223; PSC 121, 122, 221, 222, 223; or SOC 121, 222, 223, 224, 225.

    4. Choose one course from section B or section C or from the following: ARC 228; ART 121, 240, 241, 242, 260; ENG 128, 129, 222, 224, 247, 263, 264; HST 126, 127, 129, 225, 240, 241; HUM 123, 125, 127, 128, 222, 223, 226; MUS 124, 140, 224; PHI 129; or THE 121.

    5. Science Electives - A minimum of eleven (11) credit hours is required to fulfill this requirement. A Psychology major should complete BIO 121 or 124 and additional courses chosen from the following to total 11 credit hours: AST 121; BIO 120, 122, 124, 125, 127, 140, 221, 222, 224, 225; CHM 120, 121, 123, 125; or PHY 121, 122. 123.
