THIS GUIDELINE IS VALID FOR THE 2004 - 2007 ACADEMIC BULLETIN AND IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE WITHOUT NOTICE

  1. GENERAL EDUCATION PROGRAM - Please consult the General Education section of the current IIT Bulletin for complete requirements.

    1. Basic Writing Proficiency - Students must show basic writing proficiency by receiving a satisfactory score on the Writing Proficiency Examination or by passing an English Composition course.

    2. Humanities - Choose one course from the following: ENGLI 1130, 1150, 1151, 1152, 1153, 1154, 1156, 1158, 1159, 1160, 1165, 2220, 2221, 2222, 2223, 2224, 2226, 2227, 2228; HIST 1110, 1120, 2235, 2245, 2260; HUM 1102, 1105, 1110; PHILO 1100, 1110, 1112, 1114, 1116, 1130, 1145, 1150, 1170, 2200.

    3. Social Sciences - Choose one course from the following: ANTHR 1100, 1105, 1120, 1130; ECONO 2201, 2202, 2210, 2220; GEOG 1100, 1105, 1120, 1130, 2205, 2235; POLS 1100, 1101, 1160, 2203, 2220, 2221; SOC SCI 1100; or SOCIO 1100, 1120, 2210, 2215, 2220, 2230, 2251, 2252, 2253..

    4. Choose one course from section B or section C or from the following: ART 1100, 2211, 2212, 2213, 2214; ENGLI 1125, 1135, 1157; HIST 2205, 2210, 2215, 2220, 2225, 2230, 2240, 2265, 2270; HUM 1101; MUSIC 1100, 1104, 1105, 1115; PHILO 1125, 1160, 2250; REL 1100, 1110, 1120, 1155, 2160; or THEAT 1100, 1104.

    5. Science Electives - A minimum of eleven (11) credit hours is required to fulfill this requirement. A Psychology major should complete ANAT 111 or BIOLO 101 and additional courses chosen from the following to total 11 credit hours: ANAT 1500, 1551, 1552; CHEMI 1105; BIOLO 1100, 1110, 1120, 1140, 1151, 1152, 2150; PHYSI 2112, 2115.
