GENERAL EDUCATION PROGRAM - Please consult the General Education section of the current IIT Bulletin for complete requirements.

1. Basic Writing Proficiency - Choose ENG 101.
   
   
2. Humanities - Choose one course from the following: HST 105, 111, 112, 141, 142, 151, 152, 212, 245; HUM 101, 102, 105, 120; LIT 105, 110, 112, 115, 206, 207, 210, 216, 217, 221, 222, 223, 224, 231, 232, 241; or PHI 105, 115, 120, 150, 160, 170, 180, 190, 205, 210, 220, 231, 232.
   
   
3. Social Sciences - Choose one course from the following: ANT 101, 202, 203, 205, 206, 207, 208, 209, 210; ECO 200, 210, 211, 212; GEG 101, 103, 104, 108, 210; PSC 101, 220, 250, 260, 270, 280; PSY 101, 216, 217, 218, 220, 225, 228, 230, 235, 245; or SOC 101, 120, 205, 210, 215, 230.
   
   
4. Choose one course from section B or section C or from the following: FNA 111, 112, 113, 114; HST 121, 153, 210, 214, 219, 231, 232, 241, 242, 243; HUM 103, 110; LIT 208, 219; LNG 105, 205; or MUS 103, 104, 120.
   
   
5. Science Electives - A minimum of eleven (11) credit hours is required. Two courses must be in the same field and at least one course must be in a different field. Choose from the following: AST 101, 201; BIO 101, 103, 104, 105, 111; CHM 110, 121, 122; GEO 101, 102, PHS 101, 105, 111, 112; or PHY 121, 122.
   
   
6. Mathematics - A minimum of five (5) semester hours is required. Choose from the following: MTH 103, 104, 106, 107, 124, 165. Both MTH 124 and 165 are highly recommended.
   
   
7. Computer Science - Required: CIS 106. Recommended: one course beyond CIS 106.
   
   
8. Free or Technical Electives - Thirty-three (33) semester hours of approved courses. Please contact IIT's Office of Educational Services for aditional information.
