GENERAL EDUCATION PROGRAM - Please consult the General Education section of the current IIT Bulletin for complete requirements.

    1. Basic Writing Proficiency - Choose ENG 101.

    2. Humanities - Choose one course from the following: ENG 103, 104, 105, 106, 107, 108, 208, 209, 220, 250, 260, 270; HIST 103, 104, 105, 106, 107, 108, 109, 200, 201, 250; or PHIL 101, 102, 103.

    3. Social Sciences - Choose one course from the following: ANTH 101, 275; ECON 100, 103, 104, 111, 210, 220; GEOG 102, 104, 106; PSCI 101, 102, 103; PSYC 101, 102, 205, 206, 207, 208, 210, 215, 250, 273; or SOC 101, 220, 240, 270, 280, 290, 293, 295.

    4. Choose one course from section B or section C or from the following: ART 115, 116, 117, 118; ENG 109, 190; HIST 210, 220, 230, 240, 260, 290, 293; MUS 101, 102, 103, 107, 201, 202; or THEA 101.

    5. Science Electives - A minimum of eleven (11) semester hours is required. Two courses must be in the same field and at least one course must be in a different field. Choose from the following: ASTR 101; BIO 104, 125, 144, 147, 151, 152, 210; CHEM 100, 101, 102; GEOG 112; GEOL 101, 102; PHSCI 120; or PHYS 100, 101, 102, 103, 104.

    6. Mathematics - A minimum of five (5) semester hours is required. Choose from the following: MATH 107, 108, 128, 131, 137, 141, 153. Both MATH 128 and 153 are highly recommended.

    7. Computer Science - Required: CIS 122. Recommended: one course beyond CIS 130.

    8. Free or Technical Electives - Thirty-three (33) semester hours of approved courses. Please contact IIT's Office of Educational Services for additional information.
