GENERAL EDUCATION PROGRAM - Please consult the General Education section of the current IIT Bulletin for complete requirements.

1. Basic Writing Proficiency - Choose COM 101.
   
   
2. Humanities - Choose one course from the following: COM 102; HIS 101, 102, 105, 201, 202, 250, 251; HUM 101, 102, 104, 115; LIT 213, 214, 215, 216, 218, 219, 220, 221, 222, 223, 224, 225; or PHI 101, 115, 120, 125, 225, 226.
   
   
3. Social Sciences - Choose one course from the following: ANT 201, 202, 205, 210; ECO 101, 102, 250; GEO 101, 102, 201; PSC 105, 110, 115, 210, 212, 215, 225; PSY 101, 104, 105, 106, 201, 202, 205, 210, 211, 215, 220; SOC 101, 102, 103, 201, 202, 204; or SSC 100, 101, 102.
   
   
4. Choose one course from section B or section C or from the following: ART 110, 205, 206, 207, 208, 209; HIS 204, 207, 210, 211, 215, 220, 230; HUM 249; LIT 205, 217, 280; MUS 106, 107; PHI 111; or THE 105, 107, 110.
   
   
5. Science Electives - A minimum of eleven (11) credit hours is required. Two courses must be in the same field and at least one course must be in a different field. Choose from the following: BIO 111, 112, 215, 220, 230; CHM 111, 131, 132; EAS 120, 125; GEL 150, 151; PHS 101, 103, 105; or PHY 101, 102, 106, 111, 112, 150, 151.
   
   
6. Mathematics - A minimum of five (5) semester hours is required. Choose from the following: MTH 135, 139, 141, 142, 143. Both MTH 139 and 143 are highly recommended.
   
   
7. Computer Science - Required: MIS 105. Recommended: one course beyond MIS 105.
   
   
8. Free or Technical Electives - Thirty-three (33) semester hours of approved courses. Please contact IIT's Office of Educational Services for additional information.
