GENERAL EDUCATION PROGRAM - Please consult the General Education section of the current IIT Bulletin for complete requirements.

    1. Basic Writing Proficiency - Choose ENG 101.

    2. Humanities - Choose one course from the following: ENG 211, 215, 216, 220, 221, 225; HIS 103, 104, 105, 106, 190; HUM 150, 151, 152; or PHI 125, 126, 180, 201.

    3. Social Sciences - Choose one course from the following: ANT 101, 102; ECO 101, 102; GEG 105, 115, 125; HIS 180; HUM 181; POL 201, 202; PSY 101, 104, 201, 202, 205, 210, 211, 215; SSC 101, 102, 140; or SOC 100, 101, 102, 201, 220.

    4. Choose one course from section B or section C or from the following: ART 120, 125, 126, 127, 217; HIS 140; HUM 153, 154; or MUS 100, 101, 102, 103, 104, 105, 106, 107, 108, 109; or SPE 108, 110.

    5. Science Electives - A minimum of eleven (11) semester hours is required. Two courses must be in the same field and at least one course must be in a different field. Choose from the following: BIO 102, 103, 104, 110, 111, 202; CHM 100, 105, 106; GEG 101; GEL 101; PHS 101, 103, 104; or PHY 101, 102, 106, 107.

    6. Mathematics - A minimum of five (5) semester hours is required. Choose from the following: MAT 105, 110, 124, 141. Both MAT 124 and 141 are highly recommended.

    7. Computer Science - Required: CIS 105. Recommended: Another programming course.

    8. Free or Technical Electives - Thirty-three (33) semester hours of approved courses. Please contact IIT's Office of Educational Services for additional information.
