  1. GENERAL EDUCATION PROGRAM - Please consult the General Education section of the current IIT Bulletin for complete requirements.

    1. Basic Writing Proficiency - Students must show basic writing proficiency by receiving a satisfactory score on the Writing Proficiency Examination or by passing an English Composition course..

    2. Humanities - Choose one course from the following: EGL 113, 115, 117, 129, 221, 222, 224, 225, 226, 230, 231, 232, 234, 235, 241, 242; HIS 111, 112, 120, 131, 132, 135, 207, 221, 222; HUM 120, 121, 127; or PHL 106, 107, 170, 180, 205, 215, 230, 231, 240.

    3. Social Sciences - Choose one course from the following: ANT 202, 203, 204, 210; ECO 110, 201, 202, 203; GEG 120, 122, 130, 205; PSC 101, 102, 103, 104, 110, 111, 201, 202, 210; SOC 101, 103, 104, 210, 220, 230, 232, 233, 234; or SSC 101, 105, 201, 205, 206.

    4. Choose one course from section B or section C or from the following: ART 111, 112, 113, 114; EGL 260; HIS 113, 114, 115, 121, 139, 140, 211, 216, 226, 227, 233, 235, 236, 240, 260; HUM 122, 123, 125, 126, 131, 133, 140, 142, 160, 165, 220; or MUS 145, 236.

    5. Science Electives - A minimum of eleven (11) credit hours is required to fulfill this requirement. A Psychology major should complete BIO 121 or 122 and additional courses chosen from the following to total 11 credit hours: BIO 131, 132, 151, 210; CHEM 101, 105, 121, 122, 207; PHY 115, 131, 132.
