- GENERAL EDUCATION
PROGRAM - Please consult the General Education section of the current
IIT Bulletin for complete requirements.
- Basic
Writing Proficiency - Students must show basic writing proficiency
by receiving a satisfactory score on the Writing Proficiency Examination
or by passing an English Composition course.
- Humanities
- Choose
one course from the following: ENG 211, 212, 215, 220, 221, 222,
225, 226, 227, 230, 235, 240, 245, 255; HIS 111, 112, 121, 122, 125; HUM
101, 102; or PHL 100, 105, 120.
- Social
Sciences - Choose one course from the following: ANT 100, 101,
110, 120; ECN 100, 110, 121, 122; GEO 225, 230, 235; IDS 110; PSC 100,
220, 240, 260, 280; PSY 100, 205, 220, 226, 235, 240, 245, 250; SSC 110;
or SOC 100, 120, 130, 210, 215, 230, 240.
- Choose one course from section B or section C or from the following:
ART 100, 101, 102, 103, 104, 105; ENG 250; HIS 205, 215, 225, 235, 245;
HUM 201; MUS 100, 101, 102, 200; PHL 110; or THE 100, 110, 130.
- Science Electives for Computer Science majors - A minimum of
fourteen (14) credit hours is required to fulfill this requirement. At
least one natural science or engineering elective must be in a field other
than physics. A CS major should complete PHY 221 and 222 and additional
courses chosen from the following to total 14 credit hours: AST 100, 105,
110; BIO 100, 110, 120, 122, 200, 230, 240, 244, 250, 254, 260, 270, 272;
CH 100, 102, 121, 125.
