GENERAL EDUCATION PROGRAM - Please consult the General Education section of the current IIT Bulletin for complete requirements.

1. Basic Writing Proficiency - Choose ENG 101.
   
   
2. Humanities - Choose one course from the following: ENG 211, 212, 215, 220, 221, 222, 225, 226, 227, 235, 240, 245; HIS 111, 112, 121, 122, 125; HUM 101, 102; or PHL 100, 105, 120.
   
   
3. Social Sciences - Choose one course from the following: ANT 100, 101, 110, 120; ECN 100, 121, 122; GEO 225, 230, 235; PSC 100, 220, 240, 260; PSY 100, 205, 220, 226, 235, 240, 245. 250; SSC 110; or SOC 100, 120, 130, 210, 220.
   
   
4. Choose one course from section B or section C or from the following: ART 100, 101, 102, 103; ENG 230, 250; HIS 235, 245; HUM 201; MUS 100, 101, 102; PHL 110; or THE 110, 130.
   
   
5. Science Electives - A minimum of eleven (11) semester hours is required. Two courses must be in the same field and at least one course must be in a different field. Choose from the following: AST 100, 105, 110; BIO 100, 110, 120, 122, 126, 240, 244; CHM 100, 102, 106, 121, 122; ESC 100, 130; or PHY 103, 111, 112, 115, 116.
   
   
6. Mathematics - A minimum of five (5) semester hours is required. Choose from the following: MTH 107, 110, 112, 113, 210. Both MTH 107 and 210 are highly recommended.
   
   
7. Computer Science - Required: CIS 115. Recommended: on course beyond CIS 115.
   
   
8. Free or Technical Electives - Thirty-three (33) semester hours of approved courses. Please contact IIT's Office of Educational Services for additional information.
