Article III
Membership:
Section 1. The membership of this
organization shall consist of Undergraduate students, alumni, graduate
students and faculty of IIT & Vandercook.
Section 2. Eligibility Requirements:
Desire to join.
Section 3. Membership shall not be
discriminated upon the basis of race, ethnicity, gender, age, sexual
orientation, economic status, or physically ability."
Article IV
Officers:
Section 1. The officers of this
organization shall be:
a)
President
b) Vice
President
c) Treasurer
d)
Secretary
Section 2. Qualification for
each officer is active membership, election.
Section 3. Term of office is one
(sp; Qualification
for each officer is active membership, election.
Section 3. Term of
office is one (1) year.
Section 4. Duties
of officers:
Section 5. Provision
for removal of officers is vote of non-confidence by 2/3
of members.
Section 7.
In case of replacement of officers, resignation or removal, special
elections should
be held (using regular voting procedures) to elect
new members.
Article V
Meetings:
Section 1. Regular meetings of this organization shall be held
biweekly.
Section 2. Special meetings may
be called at any time by the president
upon petition of 30%
of members.
Section 3. A quorum (minimum number
of members required to be
present in a meeting)
shall consist of 1/3 of members.
Article VI
Elections:
Section 1. Election of officers
shall be held yearly.
Section 2. All present members and
advisors in a meeting have the right
to vote. There is no
proxy vote.
Article VII
Advisors:
Section 1.
There shall be one or two advisors, who shall be IIT full-time faculty or
staff members with voting privileges.
Section 2. Selection of advisors
will be done by vote.
Section 3. The advisor’s duties will
be to help HA members
with any problem
regarding IIT.
Article VIII
Amendments:
Section 1.
This constitution may be amended by meetings where 50% of membership are
present.
Section 2.
One-month advance notice is required for a meeting where the amendment of
the constitution will be tabled.
Section 3. Amendments are voted
using regular voting procedures.
Article IX
Dissolution:
Section 1. Upon the dissolution of
this organization, funds, equipment,
responsibilities,
shall be handed over to the president and the advisor.
Section 2. If
the funds are from the SLC, or the equipment was purchased with IIT money,
it must be returned to IIT.
Section 3. The
president shall be responsible for carrying out these directives.
