Students from all departments and colleges are encouraged to consider registering for the enclosed IPRO project sections. Each project section is organized as a team of 5-15 students from sophomore through graduate level, and from all disciplines that fit the needs of a project. If a project section is oversubscribed or has an insufficient number of students, students are encouraged to consider a second choice. Depending on the requirements for their program of study and personal interest, students are encouraged to sign up for project sections that may be led by a department that is other than their own major. Students should consult their academic adviser and the lead faculty identified with each project for further information. Information is also available at www.iit.edu/academics/ipro.

Course and Section Designations:  The above course numbers IPRO297, IPRO397, IPRO497 and IPRO597 are to be used by sophomores, juniors, seniors and graduate students respectively. The section number shown with a project must be added to the course number to assure registration for the desired IPRO project.

Meeting Times: IPRO project sections are generally scheduled for 2:10-4:50 every Friday, with the exception of the first class as highlighted below. Other days and times may be listed in the Schedule of Classes or mutually agreed upon between the faculty and students associated with each project section at the beginning of the semester. Special consideration may be given to scheduling alternative meeting times for projects that require or benefit from students who are not available Friday afternoons, e.g., architecture majors and students enrolled in evening programs.

Meeting Location: Students should contact the lead faculty of the IPRO project section they register under regarding where the class will meet during the semester.

Project Section Cancellation Policy:  Projects may be cancelled if there is insufficient enrollment prior to the first week of class. Students who are pre-registered for Fall 1999 IPRO project sections will be notified during the summer of the status of the project section in which they are enrolled before they return to campus. They may also contact the instructor or the individuals listed below at any time. Students are encouraged to consider an alternative project if their first choice should be cancelled.

An IPRO course is a great way to apply knowledge from various classes to tackle a real-world topic as part of a team, to work closely with faculty and with professionals in sponsoring organizations as well. Questions about the IPRO Program can be addressed to Dean Gerard Voland, Undergraduate College, at x73163 or voland@charlie.iit.edu.

Questions regarding future IPRO projects and sponsors can be addressed to Tom Jacobius, Director, Industrial Liaison & Technology Transfer at x73986 or jacobius@iit.edu.
