College of Architecture students, faculty and staff joined the campus-wide "Tackle the Tower" event held on Veterans Day, November 11, 2009.
Registration fees went to the Wounded Warrior Project, a nonprofit organization that advocates for and supports severely injured service members.
The College covered the registration fees for its participants and held a celebratory lunch at Crown Hall for those completing the challenging climb to the top of the IIT Research Institute building.
Altogether the College had 33 registrants. Student Fred Grier commented, "We had a great group of students attend and many of us went together to ‘tackle the tower’ - up the 21 flights of stairs to the top. It was a lot of fun and not as difficult as I'd feared! Afterward, we returned to Crown Hall for refreshments and to commiserate about our experience.”
