Michal Ciurej Wins Second Place in PCI Competition
Bachelor of Architecture student Michal Ciurej placed second in the annual Precast Concrete Institute's Student Design Competition. The competition involved the design of multi-unit total precast housing with consideration of sustainable building practices. Ciurej was recognized for his project, "Tree Studios II - Subsidized Artists' Housing in Chicago's Lincoln Square," developed in his Fall 2010 studio with Assistant Professor Thomas Brock. As second place winner, Ciurej was given a $1,500 prize and will accept his award at the PCI convention in Salt Lake City this October.posted:
