Accreditation
The Landscape Architectural Accreditation Board (LAAB) evaluates professional landscape architecture programs in the U.S. to determine whether they meet objective standards of academic quality and properly prepare students for professional work.
LAAB does not begin its evaluation process until after a program's first class of students has graduated. The first class of IIT's MLA students will graduate in May 2009, and the Program in Landscape Architecture is expected to receive accreditation during the 2009-10 academic year. Students graduating before accreditation is obtained may seek professional licensure in landscape architecture.
