Banner
Financial Aid launched on March 10. Students may now view their financial
aid awards for the 2008-09 academic year through new channels under
the Finances tab in myIIT. Students also may accept/decline their loan
awards through the Banner Financial Aid interface. All technical support

Banner
Web has completed five relaunches of key IIT websites, including a new
iit.edu home page and primary landing pages and the complete sites of
College of Science
and Letters, Stuart
School of Business, Armour
College of Engineering and Undergraduate
Admission. The Banner Web team is currently working on conversion
of the College of Architecture, Graduate Admission, Graduate College,
Graduate Research and Galvin Library websites to the Luminis Content
Management System (LCMS).
Banner
Human resources launched on schedule January 2, bringing with it online
time entry for most types of employees through the myIIT portal. Employees
can now view and track benefits, leave balances and more through dedicated
channels on the Work tab in myIIT. All technical support questions should

In March and April 2008...
Integration
The Integration team is currently deploying several new systems to support
Banner modules, including online time and effort reports for principal
investigators who perform grant and contract accounting, and required
functionality for Internet registration for IIT Online and IITV courses.
The Integration team is configuring additional systems that are fully
integrated with Banner. TouchNet is a credit card processing gateway
that will go live after the launch of Banner Student. This system will
make student payment processing more efficient by consolidating four
different payment gateways into one. Additionally, the team has deployed
Xtender, a document imaging system that will attach electronic scans
of student documents to each student’s university records. The
team also will work closely with the Reporting and Data Standards teams
to deploy Cognos, a business intelligence and reporting tool, and on
interfaces for design systems utilized by Chicago-Kent College of Law
and the Institute of Design.
Banner
Student
The Banner Student team is moving ahead on the first phase
of the Student module launch. The team will conduct a small-scale mock
registration in March to check the new module’s schedule and time
status functions. The team also has begun to work closely with SunGard
Higher Education to configure IIT’s fsaAtlas system, which is
expected to go live soon after the launch of Banner Student.
Reporting
& Data Standards
The Reporting team and Data Standards team are currently rolling out
Cognos—a business intelligence and reporting tool that will generate
reports from the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) and Operational Data
Store (ODS). Cognos will make reporting simpler and faster by enabling
users to model data from different sources in a single view.
Training
The training team continues to prepare faculty, staff and students for
the rollout of several new systems designed to streamline processes
at the university. To coincide with the launch of Banner Financial Aid
on the myIIT portal, the Training team has created instructions to assist
students in using the new channel. Additionally, a regular monthly schedule
of Banner navigation and finance training workshops has been created.
