BANNER NAVIGATION FUNDAMENTALS
This class is essential for all new Banner users. In this session users will be introduced to the structure of Internet Native Banner (INB) systems, how to navigate between forms, how to use the electronic documentation, how to query for a person, and how to perform searches.

Who should attend: Open to all faculty and staff Banner users.

GRANT & CONTRACT ACCOUNTING BUDGET QUERY
The objective of this workshop includes querying restricted grants and contracts to determine whether funds are available to spend within the project period. In addition, line item restricted budgets will be reviewed including sub-contracts, equipment, indirect cost and mandatory cost-share. Navigation within the FRIGITD screen in INB and BUDGET QUERY screen in SSB will be reviewed.

Who Should Attend: Those who are responsible for budget management (Faculty Researchers and or Grant Administrators).

Requirements: This session will work directly with Live Banner. You must have access to the Banner Finance tab through your myIIT portal account prior to registering for this class.

PURCHASING POLICIES AND PROCEDURES
The purpose of this class is to give individuals who are new to using Banner Finance an understanding of the IIT purchasing process. It is required for those given Banner Finance access. The class discusses the responsibilities of those accessing Banner Finance as they relate to protecting the interests of IIT overall as well as those of the departments they represent. This session is offered with the Requisitioning and Budget Queries Courses.

Who Should Attend: All staff and faculty who are or will be involved in the purchasing process and have access to Banner Finance.

REQUISITIONING/SELF SERVICE BANNER
The objectives of this session include creating, canceling, and querying purchase requisitions, following the progress of requisitions through the approval process, through conversion to purchase order, invoicing and funds disbursement.

Who Should Attend: Staff and faculty who have Banner Finance access and are involved in any aspect of the purchasing of goods and/or services.

Requirements: This session will work directly with the live Banner system. You MUST have access to the Banner Finance tab through your myIIT portal account prior to registering for this class.

BUDGET QUERIES/PROCUREMENT CARDS
The objectives of this session include querying departmental budgets to determine whether funds exist prior to requisitioning, transferring funds within the department budget, the process for transferring costs to other departments. Also included is a discussion of the procurement card as a payment tool and how it can be used to manage budgets.

Who Should Attend: Those who are responsible for budget management within their departments.

Requirements: This session will work directly with Live Banner. You MUST have access to the Banner Finance tab through your myIIT portal account prior to registering for this class.
