Carr Chapel

Carr Memorial Chapel at IIT is both a unique monument to modern architecture and the spiritual center of Main Campus. As Ludwig Mies van der Rohe's only religious project, the chapel draws international interest because of its historic importance, while offering students of all faiths a place to congregate, attend religious services, and pray. In recent years, there has been an unprecedented surge in student life on campus. IIT has more students than ever living in campus housing and sometimes struggles to keep up with the demand for rooms and beds. With this thriving interest in campus life, students have needed new services and accommodations. One of the most important has been a place for them to practice the rituals of their faith. |

The renovation of Carr Memorial Chapel continues to be underway and gives IIT students the opportunity for a vibrant and complete spiritual life on campus. Currently, the chapel hosts worship services, morning prayer meetings, memorial and wedding services, and meetings of faith-based student groups. |
