LEED gives building owners and operators the tools they need to have an immediate and measurable impact on their buildings' performance.
LEED promotes a whole-building approach to sustainability by recognizing performance in five key areas of human and environmental health: sustainable site development, water savings, energy efficiency, materials selection and indoor environmental quality.
Sustainability Endowment Institute
The Sustainable Endowment Institute ranks universities through their “Green Report Card ”, reporting their rankings of the College Sustainability Report Card evaluates universities around North American in the areas of Administration, Climate and Energy, Food and Recycling, Green Building, Student Involvement, Transportation, and Endowments.
IIT is proud to have improved its overall grade from a “D” in 2009 to a “C+” in 2010 (a “B” without the three endowments)
Princeton Review
The Princeton Review helps prospective students with evaluation of Colleges and Universities through their evaluation of several criteria has a “Green Rating ” and a “Green Honor Roll”. They evaluate based on a survey using criteria through Eco-America.
IIT rating for the 2010 academic year was a 92, an improvement from an 82 on the previous score.
