Services
Student Counseling Services offers evaluations, referrals, medication management and short-term individual psychotherapy for IIT students, including students from Chicago-Kent, Vandercook, the Institute of Design, the Stuart School and the Shimer College.
We provide services for students on both the Main Campus (MC), and the Downtown Campus (DTC). Services for downtown campus students are available on several different days at the Stuart School of Business. Availability for counseling services at the DTC are limited.
If there is no availability at the DTC, those students can receive counseling on the main campus. The main campus is easily accessed through the IIT free shuttle between the main campus and the DTC, or the Red or Green lines of the CTA.
All initial appointments are on the Main Campus.
Depending on availability of services at the DTC, students will be assigned a counselor either at the main campus or the downtown campus.
Clinical Services are provided by doctorate-level psychologists, a psychiatrist and closely supervised professionals in training.
Most services are free to currently enrolled students. Appointments with our psychiatrist and medications may be covered by the student health insurance plan.
