    APICS-Chicago Sponsors INTM Scholarship Competition

    0
The Association of Operations Management (APICS) is a national organization which focuses on operations management (including production, inventory, supply chain, materials management, purchasing and logistics) and is well known for its training and certification programs for supply chain professionals.  During the past two years, the APICS-Chicago Chapter and INTM have been working together to identify opportunities for INTM students to get involved in APICS activities.

In spring 2009, APICS-Chicago sponsored a scholarship competition specifically for BINTM and MITO students pursuing coursework in operations and supply chain management.  Applicants had to write a comprehensive paper on an operations management topic.  Two scholarships were awarded: a "Gold" scholarship for $2000 and a "Silver" scholarship for $1500.

Overall, seven papers were submitted which were in turn reviewed by three faculty judges. Congratulations to the winners...

Gold:  Daphna Rashman for "Incremental Implementation of PLM and the Role Change Management Plays"

Silver:  Justin Antony for "Going Green and Its Impact on Global Supply Chain"

The scholarships were presented at INTM's Industrial Awards Dinner on Friday, May 1, 2009.  Our sincerest thanks to APICS-Chicago Chapter for their support and sponsorship of this scholarship competition for INTM students.
