Advancement for Trainees and Journeymen Stationary Engineers
INTM has a new partnership with The International Union of Operating Engineers (IUOE) Local 399. Graduates of the IUOE Local 399/Triton College and/or Facilities Engineering Technology AAS degree programs or equivalent now have the opportunity to continue their education and obtain a bachelor’s degree in the INTM Program at IIT, with support from the IUOE Local Education Training Fund (ETF).
Obtaining the Bachelor of Industrial Technology and Management (BINTM) degree requires the transfer of 63 credits from an accredited college and completion of 63 credits at IIT, for a total of 126 credits. Most students attend on a part-time basis (taking two or three courses per semester) and finish the program in about four years; however students may proceed through the program at their own pace. Review admission requirements at www.iit.edu/cpd/intm/programs/BINTM_admission.shtml. For complete details on the BINTM degree, click here to download the program description.
"The IUOE Local 399 ETF is proud of its reputation as a Union of skilled craftsmen" says Jim Coates, IUOE Local 399 Representative. "This reputation has been built on a foundation of experience and education. We believe education is the key to our further success, and members should possess the highest level of skill to promote the reputation our fathers and grandfathers have built. To accomplish this goal we need to provide an advancement program that will not only teach the trainee, but also challenge the Journeyman Engineer."
IUOE Local 399 ETF offers a member Tuition Benefit Program that provides financial assistance to members in good standing. More details on this program are offered in an informational brochure. IUOE Local 399 members looking for additional information may contact
