About Information Technology and Management Degrees and Certificates
Welcome to IIT's Information Technology & Management Degree Program at the School of Applied Technology
- Information Technology and Management (undergraduate and graduate)
- Cyber Forensics and Security (graduate)
- Certificates (graduate)
Illinois Institute of Technology offers undergraduate, graduate, and certificate programs in Information Technology & Management (ITM). Courses are taught using a hands-on, reality-based approach to education, in which students apply what they learn in class to solve real-life problems. The ITM curriculum is a blend of theoretical content and practical application.
The degree program is a laboratory-based program designed to broaden and deepen the student's knowledge of new and emerging information technologies, the application and integration of these technologies, and the administrative practices used in the effective management of these technologies.
Classes meet in the evenings and on weekends and the program may be taken either full or part-time. Students gain knowledge of contemporary programming languages, operating systems, networking, relational database systems, and systems security, with a focus on integration in the workplace. The program does not require prior technology courses or experience; all technical areas are presented beginning at a fundamental skill level. Courses also prepare you for vendor-neutral and vendor-specific certifications.
The master's degree programs may be completed through evening and weekend coursework and/or entirely via online courses. If the program is completed online, a smaller number of specializations will be available.
The ITM program has also been designed as a transfer program for undergraduate (bachelor degree-seeking) students transferring to IIT from two (2) year or four (4) year college programs. More information on transferring into the ITM program can be found here.
The program currently has several strong specialization areas with corresponding research labs including:
The IT Security and Forensics Laboratory
The Real-Time Communications Laboratory
