VoIP Student Projects and Demonstrations
Students in the Telecommunications and Voice over IP (VoIP) courses at IIT’s Center for Professional Development (CPD) recently presented their semester projects at a meeting of the IEEE Communications Society. The first half of the evening was devoted to presentations of the goals and results of the projects. In the second half, attendees visited the lab, participated in demonstrations of the projects, and the saw new test beds and equipment recently added to the lab.This year's projects included:
- A study of the comparative performance impacts of different end to end security methods on VoIP applications
- A feature rich IP-PBX Conference Service
- An implementation of a SIP Connect service
Several project sponsors also had their systems on display including: Avaya Peer to Peer System, CBeyond SIP Trunk, Cisco CMS System, Epygi SMB Enterprise Solution, Nortel SMB Solution, Open Source IMS, and SIP-IIT
