    Admission Requirements:

    Admission to the degree program is competitive and based on a review of:

    • College transcripts
    • Documentation of work experience
    • An admission interview
    • *If you have a GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale from an approved university, we can admit you unconditionally
    To enroll in the program you must:
    • Hold an associate's degree (AA) from an accredited college or the equivalent, completion of ~60 credit hours
    • Include official transcripts (or certified copies) of all college-level work
    • Submit an online application for admission as a degree-seeking student
    If you are admitted, you will need to have satisfied the following lower level (100- or 200- courses) General Education Requirements; if you haven't, you'll have to make them up while working on the IT degree (you have up to two years to do that).

    The degree requires 126 credit hours including transfer and coursework completed at IIT. Only courses in which you earned a grade of "C" or better may be accepted for transfer.

    Basic Writing Proficiency Requirement
    Students must take the IIT English Proficiency Examination before beginning Classes at IIT. Within the first year at IIT, students who do not pass the IIT English Proficiency Examination must demonstrate basic writing proficiency by passing a composition course at IIT
    Mathematics - 5 credit hours
    Coursework at the level of Math 119 or above; Probability and Statistics is highly recommended.
    Computer Science - 2 credit hours
    Coursework at the level of CS 105, ITM 311 or above
    Humanities and Social or Behavioral Sciences - 9 credit hours
    A minimum of 3 credit hours in Humanities and 3 credit hours in Social or Behavioral Sciences
    Natural Sciences or Engineering - 11 credit hours
    Relevant courses include biology, physics, chemistry and engineering
    Technical or Free Electives - 33 credit hours
