Master Certificate in Data Management and Analytics
About this Course:
The Master Certificate in Data Management & Analytics is awarded to those participants who have completed both the Database Concepts with Oracle and SQL Databases courses in addition to at least one of the five elective courses listed below of the Information Technology Certificate Programs offered through the School of Applied Technology of Illinois Institute of Technology. Those interested in pursuing this award must complete these three courses. Most often these courses can be successfully completed in one year or less.
Participants who wish to pursue this Master Certificate would be best served by working with a program manager of the Information Technology Courses for guidance. Some courses may be taken simultaneously and some may require prerequisites. Allowing the program manager to assist in planning the sequence of classes would ensure a successful and enjoyable experience as participants reach their goals.
This course is designed for participants seeking knowledge that will prepare them for careers in data management and analytics. The two required courses must include:
IT-D 421 Database Concepts with Oracle - a 16 week course that will cover the introductory and intermediate concepts of data modeling, database design and implementation. Through hands-on exercises using Oracle 10i, participants will learn design, implementation, and administration of single-user and shared multi-user database applications.
IT-D 422 SQL Databases - a 16 week course that details advanced topics in database management and programming including client server application development are introduced. Expands knowledge of data modeling concepts and introduces object-oriented data modeling techniques.
The third courses should be chosen as an elective from the following courses below:
