Mathew Oommen
Information Technology and Management Master's
When Mathew Oommen traveled to Chicago to begin the master's program in Information Technology and Management (ITM) at IIT, it was his first time on a plane. Raised in a small village in Kerala, India, Oommen was attracted to IIT after completing his bachelor's in Information Science, as one of the few universities which incorporates management with the information technology degree. With a career goal of becoming a senior web administrator and possibly a teacher, Oommen has quickly developed and refined his skills in creating complex and robust interactive websites.
Having taken a web development position with the ITM program at IIT's Rice Campus, Oommen's work has been integral to the development of the website for IIT's student video contest, FLIX2CLIX, which incorporates several technologies he has learned through web development courses in the ITM Program.
