Scientific Computing with Higher Order Numerical Methods

In this talk, researches on applying efficient numerical methods, especially high order methods, to solve different partial differential equations from physics will be presented. These high order numerical methods, as well as scalable parallel models, have been applied to different physical researches. High performance software packages based on these numerical methods will be briefly introduced. The basics of some traditional and newly emerged high order methods will be presented, and the specific numerical algorithms for these applications will be explained. Current status and prospects of future researches will be discussed.
