    Master of Analytical Chemistry - Online


    The IIT Master of Chemistry degree in Analytical Chemistry combines technical depth with a grounding in separation techniques, spectroscopy, method development and sample preparation. This unique professional science master's program incorporates statistical analysis, communications skills and project management to make you a more effective leader in the workplace.

    Convenience

    • To accommodate your schedule, courses are offered on the Internet.
    • The entire program may be completed in 2.5 years of part-time study, though you may choose to take longer to finish.
    • No thesis required.
    • Lectures may be viewed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
    • Access to instructors via email and phone.
    • Only one visit to the IIT Main campus may be required
    • Tuition deferment available.
    • Students may start the program in August, January or June.

    + Admission Requirements


    A bachelor's degree in chemistry with a GPA of at least 3.0/4.0 from an accredited U.S. educational institution is required for domestic students. The Graduate Record Examination (GRE) is required for International students, those with an undergraduate GPA between 2.5 and 3.0, or at the request of the admissions committee.

    + Prerequisites


    To earn the degree, students must pass a comprehensive exam. Students are eligible to take this exam once 11 out of 12 courses have been successfully completed, or upon the recommendation of his/her advisor. A written exam will be offered every fall and an oral exam (on campus) will be offered every spring.

    2 semesters of calculus 1 semester physical chemistry
    2 semesters of organic chemistry 1 semester of analytical or quantitative chemistry
