Faculty Position in Fundamental Research in Materials Synthesis
The Chemistry Division of the Department of Biological, Chemical and Physical Sciences at Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT), in association with the Chemical Sciences and Engineering Division of Argonne National Laboratory (ANL) is seeking applications from outstanding candidates for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position to begin in the Fall of 2010. In this joint appointment, the candidate will also hold the title of Assistant Chemist at ANL. The combined relationship between IIT and ANL will provide the candidate exceptional access to state-of-the-art research facilities to launch leading edge interdisciplinary collaborative research in developing “out-of-the-box” materials for energy storage, alternative energy and/or catalysis. The applicant must have a Ph.D. in Chemistry with at least two years of postdoctoral experience. The successful candidate will be expected to develop externally supported research programs and to demonstrate excellent teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
