New CS Advisory Board Meets
The new Computer Science Advisory Board met on April 8, 2011. In naming members of the new board, the department sought key CIO's and CTO's of industry, government, and academia to help guide the department. Attendees at this first meeting of the new board were actively engaged and focused on some key questions concerning marketing of the department and improvements to the graduate specializations.
Since the advisory board meeting, the department has worked on increasing the selection of professional master's specializations: The graduate committee has proposed four new specializations based on the board's guidance. The department hopes to have the new specializations approved before the next meeting of the board. The board plans to meet three times a year.
