Center for the Study of Ethics in the Professions
The Center for the Study of Ethics in the Professions (CSEP) was established in 1976 to promote research and teaching on practical moral problems in the professions. The first interdisciplinary center for ethics to focus on the professions, CSEP continues to be one of the nation's leading centers for practical and professional ethics. It is known for its work on ethics in engineering and science and in related areas of business.

Collaboration and Social Media Lab (CaSM)
In the CaSM lab, we are interested in how people work together and learn from each other. We're especially interested in understanding and designing social media tools to facilitate collaborations both at work and at play. Our current research projects span a number of areas including onboarding in organizations, information visualization, online discussion forums, and social network analysis.

Communication Across the Curriculum
The CAC program is a means for undergraduate students to learn and practice communication skills necessary for particular fields of study, both in school and beyond graduation from IIT. The CAC website features student and faculty resources.
The CAC also works with faculty to provide help with writing assignments in engineering and science courses including individual conferences and classroom visits.
Digital Communication Research and Instruction Lab
The Digital Communication Research and Instruction Lab opened officially in Fall 2010 as a collaborative effort between Paul V. Galvin Library and the Technical Communication program in the Lewis Department of Humanities. Developed under the leadership of Assistant Professor Karl Stolley, the lab supports library workshops as well as faculty and graduate student research and teaching about contemporary digital communication. The facility also provides a physical space for Gewgaws Lab, whose director, Stolley, specializes in open-source software and humanized interfaces.

Language and Information in Communication Systems (LInCS)
The Language and Information in Communication Systems research group is affiliated with the program in technical communication, Lewis Department of Humanities, in the College of Science and Letters at the Illinois Institute of Technology. Members of the LInCS group have a variety of backgrounds and interests related to language, information, and computation. The LInCS research group studies text analysis, information behavior and search, and communication in shared information spaces.

Usability Testing and Evaluation Center
Established in 1999 the Usability Testing and Evaluation Center (UTEC) offers clients impartial, realistic and effective usability tests, design recommendations and educational seminars. Our state-of-the-art facilities and experienced team have helped many international, national and local clients understand their design processes from a user's perspective.

Writing Center
IIT's Writing Center was established in 1971 as a student resource that provides one-on-one tutoring sessions for undergraduate and graduate students. We are located in Siegel Hall 232/233 and available for appointments during the Fall and Spring semesters.
