College of Science and Letters Student Awards & Honors
Emily Mick (fourth-year chemistry) won the chemistry section poster session at the 2009 Chicago Area Research Symposium in April, joining student winners from Northwestern University and the University of Chicago. Mick also won a 2008 CSL Undergraduate Summer Research Stipend award (mentored by Professor Joy Chong) and a 2008 Kilpatrick Scholarship for her outstanding work in the classroom and laboratory.
Physics undergraduate Kevin Gullikson has won an Outstanding Leadership Scholarship from the Society of Physics Students for his academic performance and high level of SPS activity. Gullikson is president of IIT's SPS chapter.
