Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT) seeks a physicist to teach in the graduate program within the Department of Physics, College of Science. IIT is primarily an urban STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) institution with a mission to provide distinctive education in an environment of scientific, technological, and professional knowledge creation and innovation. IIT also offers distinctive education for students interested in business, law, design, or architecture. The physics department is currently comprised of 25 full-time faculty members of various ranks that teach and conduct research in a wide range of disciplines including accelerator and particle physics, biophysics, and condensed matter physics. Our faculty collaborate with scientists, educators, and professional colleagues nationally and internationally, making it a unique and exciting place for research, teaching, and scholarship.
The candidate is expected to have a PhD in physics and be an experienced collegiate instructor. Research experience is a plus, but not required. The initial appointment will be for two years with competitive compensation and benefits.
