B.S. in Professional and Technical Communication, 2006
Lauren Joyce earned her bachelor's in Professional and Technical Communication in 2006 specializing in web design and minoring in sociology and psychology.
Joyce's most exciting classes were sociology and history. "They allowed me to think outside the box about a wide array of social issues from women's equality to bilingual education in the Chicago Public Schools to the impact of globalization in financial markets, culture and trade. These are the courses that really stimulated discussion and brought together people from different majors on campus. Furthermore, the professors allowed me to realize the importance of studying the liberal arts at this technology-based university," she says.
Joyce is currently an admissions counselor for IIT. She plans to continue working in education either at the high school or collegiate level and, after additional course work, becoming a volleyball coach.
