Department of Biological, Chemical and Physical Sciences
As technology advances, our ability to examine and manipulate the world at the molecular level offers advances in a great variety of fields. At the forefront of research in molecular and nanoscale mapping biological systems, Associate Professor of Chemistry Rong Wang is developing applications of novel materials, tools and methods to enable research in bioscience that cannot be achieved using conventional biological tools or methods. A leading researcher in advanced biophysical characterizations of living cells, Wang plays a central role in a consortium comprised of Argonne National Laboratories, The University of Chicago and IIT on stem cell research. The fusion of nanotechnology and bioscience continues to advance, with Wang and the students in her research group leading the way.
