Registration
You are strongly encouraged to register for classes online via myIIT. If you are accessing your classes remotely (i.e. distance learning) you need to register for the online section which will have the abbreviation "IN" in the section box. If you are taking the course at the main campus, the abbreviation for the section will be "MC." If you are taking a course at Rice Campus, the abbreviation for the section will be "RI."
In order to register for classes, you need to contact your advisor for your alternate PIN. The name of your advisor is indicated on the letter of acceptance that was emailed to you by the Office of Graduate Admission. Your advisor will also help determine which classes you ought to take.
Exam Proctors
Since internet classes generally necessitate proctored exams, you are required to select a proctor and establish a site where you will be able to take the exam. These sites can include a local public library, community college testing center, or even the HR department at your place of work. If you are unsure if your class requires proctored exams, please contact your instructor directly. You should be notified at the beginning of the semester with instructions on how to select a proctor. If you do not receive an email containing this information, please contact Chuck Scott at IIT Online either by email: scott@iit.edu or by phone: 312.567.5217.
