Ireland speaks at International Symposium

Patrick Ireland, chair of the Department of Social Sciences, was invited by the Austrian Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs to speak at an international symposium on "Identity and Participation: Cross Cultural and Muslim Youth in Europe."

The symposium, co-sponsored by the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations, was held in Vienna on June 29-30. Ireland's talk was on "Religion, Social Capital, and Social Cohesion."
