Welcome, Prof. Laura Hosman!
Dr. Laura Hosman has been named Assistant Professor of Political Science in the Department of Social Sciences. Her research specializations are information and communications technologies and international development.
Most recently, from 2007-2009, Dr. Hosman was Ciriacy-Wantrup Postdoctoral Fellow in National Resource Economics and Political Economy, University of California, Berkeley. Before that, she was a postdoctoral research fellow in 2006-2007 at the Institute for Communication Technology Management at the University of Southern California’s Marshall School of Business.
She was a lecturer in 2007 at the School of Public Policy and Development at USC. Dr. Hosman earned an M.A. in Economics and a Ph.D. in Political Economy and Public Policy from USC, as well as a B.A. in Political Science from Wheaton College here in Illinois. She won a Student Fulbright Scholarship for study in the Netherlands in 1999-2000.
