committee. The dissertation proposal is presented orally as part
of the comprehensive examination.
- Final thesis exam involves the (oral) dissertation defense

Admission Criteria
Admission to the Ph.D. program in mathematics education requires the
following:
- Bachelor or Masters Degree in mathematics.
A candidate with a degree in another related field is eligible
for admission provided he or she has a documented successful experience
working with school-age youth.
- Quantitive and Verbal score: 900
Analytical score: 2.5
GRE is not required for Masters certification
- TOEFL (minimum score of 600) if from non-English
speaking country
- A minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0 is required
- Three years of teaching experience
- Professional statement of goals/objectives
