Dr. Misquita serves as a liaison for prospective international students, colleges and universities interested in establishing relationships with Illinois Institute of Technology. She is working to increase IIT's educational cooperation with universities and schools in Europe, S.E. Asia and the Middle East.

Dr. Misquita completed her B.A.(Hons) in English literature in India and a B. S. and M. S. in psychology from the U.S. She completed her Ph.D. in industrial / organizational psychology at IIT's Institute of Psychology. She directed international undergraduate admissions for three years and was also the director of the International Center, IIT's office for international students, for six years. She developed the one-year visiting student program for international students, the double degree Master’s program, was instrumental in proposing IIT’s implementation of merit scholarships for undergraduate international students, and helped develop the IIT Study Abroad program for undergraduate students. 

In accordance with IIT's mission of globalization and to facilitate expansion of alliances with universities abroad and provide an easier means of access to prospective students, IIT established the IIT France in Paris. As director since center's inception in 1998, Dr. Misquita has helped increase IIT's partnerships with various schools and universities abroad and has been personally responsible for the creation of 20 double degree Master's programs with universities and their departments/faculties in Europe.

Information for J-1 Research Scholars

1. Complete the application (pdf)
2. Submit the following initially via email to Dr. Misquita at iitparis@aol.com
   1. A statement of purpose (must indicate approximate start and end dates, experience in the research area, and identification of three professors at IIT--in order of priority--with whom the student wishes to work
   2. Two letters of recommendation in English (should be from professors who have taught you recently)
   3. Transcripts certified in English (for French applicants, transcripts should *not* include the Classes Prepas)
   The documents received via email will be distributed by Dr. Misquita to the academic department of interest. The review time may take about two to three weeks.
3. Should a professor agree to have the student join his/her research team, the student must then submit the aforementioned documents, in addition to the affidavit of support form and insurance form, in original, by post to:

4. The department at IIT will then send a letter of invitation both via email and by post along with the DS2019 form to the student.
5. Only upon receipt of a letter of invitation can the student search for housing opportunities on campus or off campus. For housing on-campus, the website is www.housing.iit.edu.
