The White City:
Daniel Burnham's Dream
Sunday, October 11, 2009
The Mies van der Rohe Society invites you to celebrate great architectural vision. Come see the newly restored exterior of Carr Memorial Chapel, Mies van der Rohe’s only religious building, and come inside to hear a reading of the new musical The White City: Daniel Burnham’s Dream.
The musical recounts the period in 1893 when people from around the globe gathered to see the City of Chicago at the World’s Fair, a grand exposition designed by Daniel Burnham, who went on to create the plan for our great city in 1909.
