The planning and communication tools linked at left and below are intended as guides primarily for print projects, but they also may be useful to plan web-based communications and multimedia projects. Consider them as you plan for promotional items such as awards, posters and t-shirts, too. Explore your options and then contact C&M to get started.
Things You Should Know
As you begin planning any communications project, it is important that you adhere to the official IIT Identity Standards Manual, Editorial Style Guide and the Purchasing Department’s Policies and Procedures.
Identity Standards Manual (download pdf manual) This detailed explanation of the university’s graphic standards includes discussion about fonts, colors, logo applications-- all the information which may affect the look of your project.
Editorial Style Guide (online guide) Make certain your content is written to the university’s style standards. The online manual details writing, punctuation and useage guides. E.g., is it main campus or Main Campus?
Here are key questions to consider at the beginning of the process, whether you are creating a new project or revising an existing one. This worksheetwill help you plan a communication project that is on target, on time and on budget.
