Did you ever stop to consider just how important alumni giving is to the education and development of current ChBE students? It’s greater than you think and more rewarding than you could ever imagine. Alumni giving is more than just writing a check every year or so. It’s about giving current and future chemical and biological engineering students the tools necessary to succeed. It’s about influencing the next generation of professionals who will play a tremendous role in shaping the world. It’s about helping students get the most out of their IIT experience.Whether you’re a new alumni or old, or whether you have thousands of dollars to give or only have your time to give, you have the power to make a great difference in the lives of ChBE’s students. Below are just a few ways you can make a positive impact:
- Donate money to help fund lab renovations, fellowships and scholarships
- Volunteer to speak at AIChE student chapter meetings
- Present your research during the weekly department seminars
- Share your alumni story through a profile on the department’s web site
- Mentor a current student
- Attend ChBE events to network with current students
- Alert the department of internship and entry-level job openings
